UI_AdminRequiredNotice Appears in Articulate Studio '13 Apps After Installing a Significant Update for Windows 10

After installing a significant update for Windows 10 (e.g., version 1511), you may see a UI_AdminRequiredNotice error message when you launch the Articulate Studio '13 apps. When this occurs, you need to reactivate Studio '13 with administrative privileges.

You only need to activate one Studio '13 app to activate the entire suite. Follow the steps below for Presenter, Quizmaker, or Engage to activate your software.

Activate Presenter with Administrative Privileges

  1. Close PowerPoint if it's open.
  2. Open your Start menu and locate your PowerPoint app.
  3. Right-click PowerPoint, scroll to More, and choose Run as administrator.
  4. User Account Control may ask, "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" Click Yes.
  5. When PowerPoint opens, you should be prompted to activate Presenter. Click Activate with your serial number.

    If you aren't prompted to activate, go to the Articulate tab on the PowerPoint ribbon and click Options to force the activation screen to appear.
  6. The activation wizard should remember your serial number. If it doesn't, enter your serial number, then click Activate.

    If activation fails, follow these instructions to manually activate your software.

Activate Quizmaker with Administrative Privileges

  1. Close PowerPoint and all Articulate apps.
  2. Open your Start menu and locate your Quizmaker app.
  3. Right-click Quizmaker, scroll to More, and choose Run as administrator.
  4. User Account Control may ask, "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" Click Yes.
  5. Click Activate with your serial number.
  6. The activation wizard should remember your serial number. If it doesn't, enter your serial number, then click Activate.

    If activation fails, follow these instructions to manually activate your software.

Activate Engage with Administrative Privileges

  1. Close PowerPoint and all Articulate apps.
  2. Open your Start menu and locate your Engage app.
  3. Right-click Engage and choose Run as administrator.
  4. User Account Control may ask, "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" Click Yes.
  5. Click Activate with your serial number.
  6. The activation wizard should remember your serial number. If it doesn't, enter your serial number, then click Activate.

    If activation fails, follow these instructions to manually activate your software.
